We have had a lot of new members over the last couple months, so many of you have not seen this piece. You might want to do the same for your job search.
In past meetings, I encouraged people to bring resumes to help us get to know each other better.
In the process, a new member passed along a piece that I thought was one of the strongest networking pieces I have seen. And I have been at it too long, so it takes a lot to impress me.
Attached is one example of a handbill. At least one outplacement firm as well as ENG (Executives Network Group) have been coaching job seekers on developing these.
Basically this is a one page sheet that summarizes what you are looking for. It quickly brings networking contacts up to speed and gives them ideas on how they could help you. For example, there is a section where you list companies you are interested in. Someone can quickly scan it and see if they know someone.
I told Paul this piece is so good, that I would like to share it with our chapter members to help them in their searches. He agreed and here it is.
Please check it out. I hope it gives you some ideas. When you look at it, please think of any ways you can help Paul, as a way of giving him thanks for sharing this with us.
