FLA LinkedIn Group
We utilize LinkedIn as the vehicle to operate and our group and communicate with members. Our website is for information to invite people to our group. Through LinkedIn, members can get the email equivalent of newsletters. The features of LinkedIn continue to grow with time. Among the many features of LinkedIn that benefit our community and membership now are:
Members can see a listing of fellow members, click on their profiles and communicate through LinkedIn. Members can search the directory for things like geographic area, companies or special expertise.
Through their LinkedIn profiles, members have a terrific way to let others know about their background as well as keep fellow members updated on what's new. They can also share information, such as uploading presentations they have done, books they are reading, or recent blog posts.
Members can rely on each other as their intellectual capital and post questions- whether trying to network for contacts or seeking advice on a financial issue or resource.
Events are posted in our discussion section. Currently we have two monthly events taking place in the Chicago area. Members can also post other events. Let us know if you want to start one in your area.
Keep up on current developments in finance. We get feeds from a number of newsworthy financial publications. Members can post interesting articles as well, including ones they have written.
Jobs can be posted directly and instantly in the jobs section. These can include networking requests where you are trying to recruit staff working for you that would be below the FLA level.
A feature to be used in the future is subgroups. Members can set up a special interest group- such as by industry or job function.
Members can receive emails covering recent activity on LinkedIn based on their preferences- daily, weekly, or not at all (for those who want to just check it online).
